Discovery
What should be the Outcome?
Delivering a unified mobile experience that streamlined employee workflows, improved accountability through geofencing and location-tracking capabilities, and exceed stakeholder expecation.
Discovery
Knowledge Transfer
When this project began, AWP Safety relied on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service as the primary platform supporting field operations and daily workflow execution. In addition, employees used a separate mobile application to track and submit non-billable time.
While performing work in the field, users leveraged the Field Service mobile app to:
Review work order details and assigned tasks
Update work order status throughout the job lifecycle
Record product deliveries and returns
Capture notes, photos, and other job-related information
This dual-application approach required users to switch between systems to complete their daily activities, creating additional steps in the workflow and leading to opportunities for improved efficiency and user experience.

Legacy Application
Discovery
It's about the user's journey
Two discovery workshops were conducted with business leaders and super users of the Field Services and Rider applications. The sessions focused on identifying pain points, understanding user needs, and uncovering opportunities to improve processes and workflows.
Key outcomes included the identification of usability challenges, process inefficiencies, and gaps in current functionality. The workshops also produced a prioritized list of business requirements and enhancement opportunities, helping align future solution recommendations with both business objectives and end-user needs.

Execution
Design Process
By gaining a deep understanding of the existing applications and the unique needs of each regional team, we designed and delivered a unified mobile experience that streamlined employee workflows, improved accountability through geofencing and location-tracking capabilities, and exceeded stakeholder expectations.
Our user-centered approach transformed fragmented experiences into a cohesive ecosystem that empowered employees to complete tasks faster, reduced manual overhead, and provided leadership with greater operational visibility. The result was a scalable solution that supported regional differences while maintaining a consistent experience across the organization.

Status and thoughts
Following rigorous QA and UAT testing, the product was successfully deployed across all AWP Safety locations in Arizona. Strong user adoption and positive user feedback validated the solution's effectiveness, driving increased utilization and helping improve compliance, strengthen safety protocols, and support the organization's mission of protecting employees and the communities they serve.
